THE SILVER DOLLAR VINEYARD
The Silver Dollar Vineyard is in the remote eastern edge of the Napa Valley, where hot days lead to cool nights. This is perfect for a varietal like Petite Sirah. We starting with hand sorting and hand punch downs, and then 40% whole cluster fermentation. We used all French barrels, ⅓ new, ⅓ once used, and ⅓ neutral barrels.
TASTING NOTES
The 2020 Napa Valley Silver Dollar Vineyard Petite Sirah is deep and intense, yet extremely well-balanced and approachable. It is powerful and inky in its youth and will become more refined with age. The nose has complex aromas of blackberry, leather and chocolate that flows into a palate that is blackberry dominant along with black cherry, graphite, cocoa, tar and spice and full tannins on the long, seemingly endless finish. Stored properly, this wine will age for a long time!
