THE ALICE VINEYARD
The 2020 vintage started with a warm, dry winter without rain or cold weather followed by a mild spring season that gave us a great early start. Summer brought very cool mornings and very warm days. While the red wine harvest was earlier than usual, the wines are showing excellent development in cellars, reflecting the fine vintage year.
The 2020 Vintage of the Alice Block produced a very polished wine that has a power to it as well. Although we picked slightly earlier than usual, the wine turned out fantastic. It has flavors of black currants, chocolate, and hazelnut and anise. It’s full-bodied with silky tannins and a long, flavorful finish. The texture and flavors stays and linger for a long time. As with all the Alice Block wines, this will age for years but is drinking well right now.
